About

“We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way.”
—St. Francis of Assisi

At ACC, I answer the Seraphic Father's call to heal what’s wounded, unite what has fallen apart, and make room for you to come home.

The mission of Anamnesis Counseling Center is to provide evidence-based, effective therapy grounded in what is true, good, and beautiful—so men and women can wholly live out their call to holiness, their unique vocation, and their apostolic life.

Delivery of Services

Embodying St. Francis’ love of relationship, I strongly believe in the value of providing in-person care. This approach is best for developing and sustaining connection, stabilizing the experience, healing wounds, and restoring wholeness. If meeting in person isn’t possible, I’m open to tele-based services (phone or video), but only on a limited basis.

Personalized, Individual Therapy

I’m passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate unexpected challenges and feelings of overwhelm or hopelessness—by reuniting what has fallen apart so it can be healed, and helping them remember their way forward.

Marriage Bonds

With extensive training in couples therapy and a heart for the work, I dedicate myself towards helping spouses move from relational distress toward connection and “mastery” together—through improved communication and deeper emotional bonding.

License & Education

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision designation (LPCC-S) in Ohio and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana. I bring 14 years of clinical experience and draw on two master’s degrees from Ball State University—an MA in Counseling Psychology (2017) and an MA in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Psychology (2017).

Additional Qualifications

I’m expertly trained and certified in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). I'm also currently pursuing certification in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). EFT is an evidence-based approach that goes beyond symptom management to create lasting, systemic change by helping patients understand and transform the patterns and meaning underneath their distress.

Supervision, Consultation & Collegiality

Alongside my clinical work, I’m committed to mentoring the next generation and supporting current mental health professionals by providing board-approved supervision and consultation in Indiana and Ohio.

I’m also an active member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, as well as the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Faith-Integrated

I honor and integrate Catholic truth into therapy, offering a bold, holistic, and life-changing approach to mental health care. If you’re not Catholic—or if you’re experiencing struggles in your relationship with God—I would still be honored to journey with you, providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Alex's Personal Life

When I’m not serving my apostolate as a therapist, I’m dedicated to my own path of holiness as a son of God. In cooperation with that, I joyfully live out my primary vocation as a husband, while also striving to be the best father I can be to my beautiful children and godchildren. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with friends and riding my 2022 Harley-Davidson Road King.
